Every hero needs a strong origin story—and for your child, that starts with Pre-K Counts!

This FREE, full-day Pre-K program for financially eligible families in the Greater Reading area, is designed to give young heroes (ages 3-5) the skills they need to conquer kindergarten and beyond. Funded by Pennsylvania Keystone STARS, Pre-K Counts provides a high-quality educational foundation, helping children develop essential skills like problem-solving, teamwork, and confidence—everything a future academic superhero needs!

Enrollment includes lunch and two nutritious snacks every school day so they’ll stay fueled for adventure.

Before they take on kindergarten, they need the super skills to succeed:

  • Reading & Math Readiness – Building brainpower for their future adventures
  • Listening & Following Directions – Every hero needs to master their mission briefings
  • Teamwork & Social Skills – Learning to work with their classmates

  2. Complete the application and all of the following items (required by law). Without this information, your application is considered incomplete and your child(ren) cannot be registered.

Este programa gratuito de Pre-K de día completo, para familias con recursos económicos en el área metropolitana de Reading, está diseñado para brindar a los jóvenes héroes (de 3 a 5 años) las habilidades necesarias para triunfar en el kínder y más allá. Financiado por Keystone STARS, Pre-K Counts ofrece una base educativa de alta calidad que ayuda a los niños a desarrollar habilidades esenciales como la resolución de problemas, el trabajo en equipo y la confianza: ¡todo lo que un futuro superhéroe académico necesita! Además, para mantener sus mentes jóvenes con energía para la aventura, la inscripción incluye almuerzo y dos refrigerios nutritivos cada día escolar.
